Yarmouth restaurants have award winning chowder and some of the best seafood around. You can grab a quick bite to bring to the beach or go out to a fancy dinner. Whether you want to sit in comfortable air conditioning or outside on the deck a Yarmouth restaurant can suit your needs.
The Cape Cod Canal bikeway goes through sections of Bourne and Sagamore, respectively. It offers fantastic views of the canal’s various boat traffic, the bridge’s vehicle traffic and the area’s quaint shoreline scenery of unique homes and natural beauty.
The Cape Cod Rail Trail is a 25 mile long trail running up the center of the Cape from Yarmouth to South Welfleet. You will find salt marshes, ponds, a few ocean views, tunnels, bridges and a connection to Nickerson State Park. There are even places to get lunch along the way. It was constructed in place of a former Cape Cod railway system.
The Shining Sea Trail in Falmouth is a four mile trail that winds along the coast, through marshes, and through a bird sanctuary. It follows the original route of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad that used to run from Buzzards Bay, through North and West Falmouth, around Woods Hole and into Falmouth Station. While you ride along the coastline enjoy the view of Martha’s Vineyard on the horizon.
The Cape Cod National Seashore bikepaths consist of three seperate trails in the towns of Eastham, Truro and Provincetown. In Eastham, the Nauset Trail runs from Route 6 to Coast Guard Beach through oak and pine forests and Nauset Marsh. The Head of the Meadow Trail, in Truro, skirts the edge of a freshwater marsh and provides glimpses of the marsh and dunes. In Provincetown, the Province Lands Bike Trail is a five mile loop, offering a hilly trail winding among beech and oak forests, sand dunes and freshwater ponds.
Hyannis Whale Watcher Cruises, located in picturesque Barnstable Harbor sails from May through October. On each cruise you are provided with a naturalist who provides commentary on the whales, the local ecology and the history of the area.
The Dolphin Fleet Whale Watch of Provincetown offers a wide spectrum of educational tools that go beyond the “average whale watch”. All trips are designed to enhance our awareness of whales, other marine life and the marine habitat that surrounds us. Our goal is to have each passenger depart our vessels with a greater understanding and appreciation of the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary and the wealth of life it supports.
Departing from Plymouth Harbor, Capt. John Boats whale excursions give you the chance and the opportunity to experience sights that you will never forget. Stellwagen Bank is a marine sanctuary and one of the primary feeding grounds for Humpback Whales, Dolphins, Fin Whales, Minke Whales, and Harbor Porpoises.
The Yarmouth Restaurant Association is a legal entity formed in 1994 to be a voice for the restaurant industry, and given the charge by the board of selectman to act as an educational and information source for the restaurants in the town of Yarmouth. We have now grown to the point where the Association has been asked by other towns and the state to consult on many matters dealing with the restaurant industry. Today, the Association is made up of 95% of the Common Victualer licensees in the town of Yarmouth.
The goals of the YRA are to be an education tool and voice for industry. We help each other with the practice and understanding of the policies and laws of the community and of the state. It is very important to the YRA to have a united voice when it comes to the concerns of the industry. The topics are varied: law enforcement, health, smoking ban, insurance and employee relations to name but a few. This means YOU have a VOICE at Town Hall.
The Yarmouth Restaurant Association commitment to the community has formed a $1000 scholarship fund for Yarmouth residents. The scholarship is available to a graduating senior pursuing a degree in the culinary arts. Please check with a guidance counselor at the high school for more information.
The Association holds many charity events to support the scholarship fund. Including the annual gold tournament at the Wianno Gold Club in Osterville, traditionally held in April.
We are the largest contributor to the “Branding of Yarmouth” project.
